Belize 1

I went to Belize for new year, spending the first two weeks of January in Central America getting a sunburn for the ages. I spent the week before in Vancouver, WA with my family for xmas, trudging through a foot of snow. Clearly, trading the snow for the beach was one of the best ideas ever. And of course I took pictures!

Well, I took about half of these pictures, to be honest. These sets are from two different digital cameras, taken by four or five different people, mostly me, Melissa and one of the neighbor kids who was REALLY into taking pictures. I'll try to point out photos that I didn't take.

Belizian Dawn #1 & 2

These photos were both taken at the dock before we boarded the water taxi for Ambergris Key. They look like Shiloh took them, especially the second one.

Hang Over

I think Melissa took this one. I can't sleep in planes, buses, cars, boats, etc., so I was up for three days before this photo. The thing was, the night before we had gotten to Belize, so I was all excited and got drunk with everybody. I felt like I was going to die on the ride to the island.

Melissa took this photo of the main form of transportation on Ambergris.

Cab Stand

We got there on New Year's Eve, early in the day. We met up with Joseph, a local friend of Melissa's who had us to his place for the beginning of the night. After a long walk, numerous shots and a ride in a cab with 8 other people, we had a Belikin in hand just before midnight.

After Joseph's place and the fireworks, we went to the bar district and hit, I don't know, 50 of them. There aren't even that many on the island, that's a lie, but jesus it seemed like they went on forever.

Happy New Year!!!!!!!

A couple days later we were still recovering and spent the day around the house with a few of the neighbor kids. I did a little cooking, the kids did some swimming, it was great.

Smooch #1 & 2

These pictures were all taken by the first kid, who got his hands on a camera and snapped as many as he could. They were fun.
