Here is a video that we made last year, directed and produced by Shiloh and I for The Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program. This is one of their Living History series that covers people who are part of the federal health system directed specifically at HIV/AIDS.
José, the man featured in the clip, is an inspiring presence. As cheesy as it sounds to say, I can't remember ever saying that before, it's the only way I can describe him. A lot of media surrounding this terrible disease is focused on the macabre, but José is very clearly living with AIDS, rather than dying of it.
Thanks to Sarah at Impact Marketing for her help with this piece. I'm really proud of it and glad to have met José.
