Meditation At 5,000 Feet

I went to visit my parents in Washington at the beginning of this month. It was a lovely time that involved a lot of naps on the couch while watching the Olympics.

When I did leave the house, it was usually with Kirsten to go run/hike/bike or canoe in the surrounding area. Most of the mountain pictures are on Larch Mountain and the water stuff is the Willamette, one of the rivers that runs through Portland. I had the best run of my short career at Forest Park in Portland, but I was too busy navigating cut backs to take any pictures.

These were all taken on my cheap Fuji digital. It was the day on Larch Mountain that convinced me to buy some old cameras from eBay. I had been thinking about it for quite a while, but trying to take pictures of the spiked leaves and the tree bridges with no focus control was that final moment. A few of these turned out good.

These were houseboats that were floated on the water.

This one was my favorite. Sushi Roll House.
